In partnership with the French Broad River Partnership, HWA managed the Love Your Watershed education campaign.
Grant partners designed and installed eight education signs across the French Broad River Basin under the newly formed Love Your Watershed educational campaign that consisted of reaching over 15,000 individuals and several hundred through newsletters and social media posts.
In addition, marketing materials were developed such as a brochure, stickers, coasters, and maps to provide additional exposure beyond the signs themselves. Over 5 acres of invasive species removals occurred, alongside 2 miles of stream restoration, all with volunteer support (over 350 individuals). Additionally, stream cleanups, plantings, and community workshops occurred during the project period. The larger community has received this campaign, marketing materials, and groundwork (cleanups, restoration, plantings) with excitement and enthusiasm, ensuring the impact will continue well beyond this year.
