HWA Spring Raffle: Lake Logan & Lake Junaluska
We have TWO different raffles for TWO of Haywood County’s lakes. You can purchase a ticket for one or both by May 21st, midnight.

All proceeds benefit HWA and our efforts to maintain and improve the surface water quality of the Pigeon River Watershed.

Helene Cleanup
Funding for the current Helene Cleanup Program has been temporarily funded through April 27th. We are unsure if funding will continue beyond this date but are grateful we can continue this work.
We continue to chip away at the growing list of private properties who need litter cleanup assistance, please be patience with us as we pick clean Helene litter from our waterways, banks, and floodplains.
This will be a 10 + year effort and it’s not going away (much like after Fred), so at the same time we are expanding our community cleanups this spring and summer.

Areas of Work
Our Mission
To maintain and improve surface water quality in the Pigeon River Watershed of Haywood County, North Carolina.
We accomplish this through two objectives directed at reducing nonpoint source pollution:
- Educating and focusing attention on the watershed as a natural, economic and recreational resource to be conserved and enhanced for this and future generations; and
- Working with public agencies, conservation interests, businesses, community groups, and public and private land owners to implement water quality improvement strategies.
